Essential oils from Gaultheria, Eucalyptus, Juniper, Lavender, Peppermint and Rosemary are mixed with the remedial qualities found in Arnica, Chilli pepper, Meadowsweet and Sesame vegetable oils to help prevent and relieve muscular tension and sensitive joints, and to improve suppleness and flexibility.

RECOMMENDED USE:
- Before exertion: rub vigorously before warming up in order to ‘warm up’ the muscle and obtain better muscular response, then do warm up exercises to avoid the risk of pulling a muscle.
- After exertion: massage deeply, to relax and detoxify the muscles and to limit stiffness.
- In case of pain: massage painful area.

Gaulteria, the answer to painful joints
Gaulteria is an extraordinary essential oil for sportspeople, both before and
after training, and more generally, as soon as any muscular,
joint or tendon pain appears. It is particularly active when used locally, since it is revulsive,
that is, it has ‘heating’ qualities. Moreover, as it helps
to eliminate lactic acids, it also helps to prevent cramp, stiffness
and to accelerate muscular recovery.

Arnica fights against knocks
It is the sportsperson’s favourite. Indeed, Arnica magically chases away
most minor muscular pains, including bruises. Arnica helps to
soothe a wide variety of knocks and bring fast relief.

Anti-inflammatory, fights against rheumatism, muscular and joint pain -> Arnica, Chilli pepper, Meadowsweet.
Oedema (fluid retention), bruises, hemotomas -> Arnica

Physio’s advice

Sports preparation and warming up:
Lie down on your back, rub muscles vigorously, working each muscle to ‘wake’ it up. Always start with the legs and move up towards the heart, so that circulation is also stimulated. The purpose of a warm up massage: is to prepare the muscle for exertion, particularly by increasing the skin temperature. This superficial or ‘skin-deep’ action should be carried out with vigorous movements for 5 to 10 minutes.

Sports recovery:
Rub the muscle to prepare for a deeper massage in which more pressure is applied, (by kneading the muscle), always massage the whole muscle area. The rhythm, which is much slower that for the warm up, makes it possible to drain off all the toxins and evacuate the lactic acid that engorges the muscles and provokes
stiffness. Start off with the feet, then move up the leg. Finish with a foot massage for extra relaxation. Most importantly, always stretch after you exercise or play sports.

Muscular tension: cramps and spasms

stretch the cramped muscle (often, the calf or the foot), either lie down or stand up.

For the calf, place your foot on a step, with the heel overhanging towards the bottom, and stretch the contracted muscle

For the foot, stretch your foot and toes as far as possible towards yourself to be able to stretch the cramped muscle underneath.
