Its soothing, calming, anti-stress action is spectacular and lightning-fast. It is a little treasure to be carried in your bag to help you face everyday strains.

Main properties

Major anti-stress oil, it soothes immediately in case of restlessness, even severe as well as nervous spasmodic pain. This essential oil works well in hyperactive, insomniac, or highly restless children.

Helps with anaesthesia and relaxation after a surgical operation.
Anti-itching and anti-allergic skin reactions.

main indications

Stress, anxiety, worry, insomnia (especially with obsessive thoughts)
Shock, nerves, fear before surgery
Stomach aches or headaches of nervous origin: bloating, nausea, neuralgia, “colic”-type pain.

Nervous disorders, pain related to stress
Apply a few neat drops to the solar plexus, along the spine, under the arches of the feet and on the inside of the wrists. You can also pour 2 drops of chamomile into a tsp of vegetable oil (for example, arnica, St. John's wort or almond oil) to massage a contracted or painful area (nape of the neck, lower spine, stomach…).

Stomach ache, indigestion
To be applied as indicated above (nervous disorders) + to swallow 1 neat drop placed directly under the tongue after each meal.

Other useful indications
Eczema, psoriasis, “patches” related to stress, sensitive skin “at crisis point”.
Toothache (related to teething).

Skin :
apply locally 1 to 2 drops on the irritated area, neat if it is small, mixed with vegetable oil if it is large.

For anaesthetising the pain of teeth coming through :
mix 1 drop of chamomile with 2 drops of St. John’s wort vegetable oil and apply to the gums.

Roman chamomile calms shaving rashes immediately.

Like all essential oils, roman camomile is forbidden during the first three months of pregnancy. It should not be used during breastfeeding either.
