Its name, of Malagasy origin, summarizes its potential well: “ravintsara” means “good leaf for all” or “tree of the good leaves”. It is in any case the most antiviral essential oil of all, ideal for all the family.

Epidemics (all)
Prevention and treatment of all viral diseases, especially respiratory ones (influenza, colds, temperatures etc.).
Prevention and treatment of other viral conditions: Gastroenteritis, hepatitis, herpes (labial, genital), mononucleosis, shingles.

Apply - 2 undiluted drops around the nostrils during the day, under the arch of the foot and on the chest in the evening. Apply mornings and evenings for all the entire risk period (prevention - 2 months maximum) or until recovery (treatment).

Bath - Dilute 5 ml of ravintsara oil in 1 cap of milk. Pour into quite hot water and plunge into the bath-tub for 20 minutes.

Ingestion - Put 2 undiluted drops on a neutral tablet or on a bit of sugar, or in 1 tsp. of honey or olive oil, and let melt in mouth 3 times a day. If you prefer, you can also dilute your essential oil in an infusion cup of sweetened rosemary with honey (in this case, pour the ravintsara oil onto the honey spoon before placing it in the cup).

Herpes
Put 1 undiluted drop directly onto the herpes 6 to 8 times per day.

Apply - 10 undiluted drops along the spine (vertebral column) in the morning and evening until recovery (treatment).

If you prefer, you can also dilute your essential oil in an infusion cup of sweetened rosemary with honey (in this case, pour ravintsara oil onto the honey spoon before plunging it into the cup).

This essential oil is perfectly appropriate for the children, even for the youngest. To prevent or treat a respiratory disease (for example in winter), do not hesitate to massage the thorax of the child several times per day using a mixture of 50% ravintsara/ 50% vegetable oil of sweet almond (for example 5 drops of the former diluted in 5 drops of the latter).

This essential oil is remarkably well tolerated by all the family, does not irritate the skin and does not have any toxicity.

However, like all essential oils, it is prohibited during the first 3 months of pregnancy as well as during breast feeding.
